Covering an area of approx. 30,000 km², the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) is one of Europe's biggest transport networks in terms of area covered. VBB achieves this through innovative, modern solutions and is keen to explore new avenues. Which information solution does such a large association to ensure that, firstly, internal acquisition, evaluation and archiving of data for the various tariffs will function smoothly and, secondly, provide passengers with a first-class customer experience?

Our services: we support VBB in the operation, re-implementation, maintenance and development of the central DBMIT database application. This means integrating the existing back end systems for the applications and SQL structures and interfaces already installed. We re-developed parts of the application, such as the controlling system, the tariff evaluation system and the entire graphical user interface. In addition, we took over maintenance and support and, naturally, are available for programming any additional developments required.

The result is that passengers who travel by bus and train in Berlin and Brandenburg benefit from a harmonized, customer-oriented local transport network with a single tariff and a comprehensive passenger information system. The timetables and the numerous connections have been finely coordinated.

„POET managed to make us feel fully involved at every step of the way and was quick to explain in person anything that wasn't clear. The experts at POET understood from the very beginning the requirements that we had for the project and impressed us with their expertise in creating custom solutions at an attractive price."
